This afternoon, I met with Vice President Biden and Secretary of Transportation LaHood at the site of the Miami Intermodal Center (MIC). The MIC is a local example of the kinds of critical transportation infrastructure projects being realized with the assistance of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. It is the future hub for all modes of transportation in the Metropolitan Miami area, connecting air, rail and bus to our existing highway and road infrastructure.
Not only will the MIC take our transit system into the next century, it will reduce our carbon footprint by providing residents and visitors with easy and affordable mass transit options.
It was an honor to welcome our Vice President and Secretary of Transportation to Miami and I am looking forward to continuing this city's partnership with this Administration.
